Papa Castaldi recieved a call one day from Maddie. She found a "for rent" sign on a vacant restaurant spot on King Street. Maddie excitedly called saying, "There's a place on king street for rent, you have to check it out!" So, Papa Castaldi visited Boone and loved it. Within 2 weeks of seeing the venue, it was their'. 

Being in the restuarant business is nothing new to Papa Castaldi. He has been in the business for 45 years, and previously owned Mama Lena's  in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mama Lena's won best italian retaurant for 5 years in a row! He was inspired to enter the restaurant business because of how influential food had been and his life growing up, and especially with the influence of his mother.

So that's what brings Maddie's Bistro here today. Tradition, family and a lot of love.
